THE
ANIMALS
he trainer faced with the huge task of handling the animals
on the shoot was Nicole Jennings. Initially approached in April
2003, her first task was to cast the dogs to appear in the film.
As dogs play such a major role in the film they have to be the
kind of creatures that are people-friendly and socialized. She
chose Emma and Sasha to double as the film’s hero dog,

BONNIE'S
LONG JOURNEY TO THE FARM
he writer/producer Bonnie Rodini spent over a decade getting
The Story of an African Farm on the go. She wrote the screenplay
in 1990 while she was living in NewYork . "I was lucky.
I had a chance meeting with the writer and director James Dearden.
I became his assistant on a movie called A Kiss before Dying
with Matt Dillon and Sean Young. I initially asked him to write
the screenplay for African Farm but I was short of a million
dollars, so I thought I'd give it a go. More...

DIRECTOR - DAVID LISTER fter
studying Fine Arts and being employed in professional theatre,
David Lister graduated with first class honours from The London
Film School and returned to South Africa to work in the film
& television industry. In a career spanning 28 years he
has directed 14 cinema & telefeatures, 11 television drama
series (totalling 125 episodes), a 52 part puppet series, 63
documentaries as well as commercials and corporate image films.

PAINTINGS

Artist Moira Rodini paints a variety of subjects including landscapes,
flowers and portraits. She has painted scenes from the film
The Story of an African farm, which her daughter Bonnie produced.
Her work is currently in several galleries in the Cape including
High Constantia, Lipschitz Gallery in Plettenburgbay, Gallery
